Jack Will-Is my friend

Advantages: good clothes, style, quality
Disadvantages: expensive, posh chavvy
Jack Wills seems to be a brand which has popped up from nowhere over the last 4 years. I first heard of it while I was at school and it has only become more and more popular, and more and more expensive and cliquey.
It brands itself as "university outfitters" and I think it is very like a British Abercrombie and Fitch. There is a spin off brand, Aubin and Wills which caters for those "graduating" from Jack Wills and here the clothes are ever more expensive and are targetted at young professionals.
Jack Wills sells both male and female clothes, as well as an ever increasing range of JW branded accessories. It has many stores up and down the uk and they tend to be in posher locations near other little posh shops (eg the one in York is near the Cath Kidson shop) and they aren't in shopping centres generally. There is rumored to be a jack Wills outet store in Oxford but I have never made it there. There is also an online outlet store but you have to be specially invited and therefore probably have a relatively high average spend on the online shop (which I don't.)
That being said, the clothes are generally all of very high quality. I have a few pieces that I have saved for, bought for my boyfriend, been bought or have just been given by other people and they have all lasted long after their respective trends have died, although most of the pieces I would say are a little anti-trend. They are (in my opinion) classic pieces with jogging bottoms, casual t shirts and hoodies, little skirts, pants, leggings and fairly classic jumpers and coats and blazers and vests. I think you can wear most of it for more than 1 season, after a few anyway surely it becomes "vintage Jack Wills" so you can just keep wearing it... But yes, the quality is very high and you can tell this in the stitching, they washability, the feel of the garments etc. So you are paying a little of the price for the quality, but a lot of the price for the branding.
The branding here is amazing. I wish I had thought of it and I wish I owned it as it is really developing a cult following of rich people with nothing trendier to spend their money on. I have a few pieces like I said, but I wear them more as I like them, not because of the brand. I recently bought my boyfriend for example a gilet, and it is so warm and cosy, it is in his words, "like wearing a duvet"!. This has got to be good. But yes, the branding I think is pushing it, but people are loving it and paying over £10 for a pair of knickers, so why not! I think it is a bit sad though when you look at the accessories, you can even now buy JW condoms, they are normal condoms but in the JW blue and pink coloured box. I think it is about £3 for 2. They also have tiny strips of leather with a few random words on and a popper, for £6.50 pop. I think that is expensive. Other typical prices are...
Shirt - £69
t shirt - £34
Jeans - £79
Shirt - £79
Jeans - £98
Blazer - £298
Rugby shirt - £69
So it is pricey compared to the high street.
They have sales about twice a year but stuff doesnt get discounted too much.
The shops and the catalogues are always really nice. Artwork and music are important and they have people like the JW Seasonnairesin ski resorts over the season, and they have JW unsigned for new bands and acts. This is cool and a good way to be introduced to new music. The shops ususally look a bit like a students bedroom on the walls with graffiti and pictures everywhere. I really like this but the shops can get a little bit busy.
The staff I have met are always really well trained, nice, friendly and helpful (possibly because they get 75% off!) and when I have the money, I do like shopping there.
