Advantages: Can always find something different there

Disadvantages: Poor discounts in sales

Pumpkin Patch shops are few and far between in my experience, but luckily we have one fairly nearby. I love a lot of the clothes but the shop itself it not great. Clothes are too crammed in, so that often you can only see the end of them on a rail rather than being face-on with the cutsomer, so often you feel as though you are digging around looking at items which is not usual in a baby clothes shop. There seems to be too much crammed into too small a space. Also, if there is a sale on it is never clear where the sale stops and the new lines begin which again just adds to the overcrowded feel of the store.

I love Pumpkin Patch clothes. They are more pricey than Next or M&S, a single vest is about £6 and cotton dungarees £14 to give an example, but they are normally very unusual and very comfortable for baby. What I love is that they do a large range of soft trousers and dungarees for boys rather than just jeans and cords which just seem so uncomfortable for a little baby, and unlike places such as Next and M&S they have a wide range of colour choices rather than just baby blue or navy, which gets pretty boring. They have a lovely pair of white cotton dungarees with a lovely pea green trim (sounds awful I know but they are gorgeous) in at the moment in organic cotton and they look so great for spring.

The concessions of Pumpkin Patch in department stores such as House of Fraser always price the stuff at slightly more expensive than the actual Pumpkin Patch store which I don't like.

The other negative thing about the shop is that they advertise 70% or 50% off sales and in our local store most sale items actually only have 20-25% off.

It also gets tedious when every time you get to the checkout you are badgered to join the mailing list or to provide them with your postcode and house number, when really all you want to do is pay for your goods and leave.

Summary: The clothes are lovely but I could not justify buying a whole wardrobe from there
