Advantages: Excellent Service, Discount Clothes

Disadvantages: Spend too much money

I would just like to comment on what brilliant service I have always received from Stolen From Ivor.

Stolen From Ivor is a fashion shop in Blackburn Shopping Centre that stocks mainly men’s and boys clothes although they do stock a few women’s items such as jeans and T-shirts.

They are a discount shop and their prices are very reasonable.

As many of you may know, around about now is the time that everyone goes shopping for school uniforms. What a nightmare! Every shop you go in is full of mums trying to get their kids sorted out with pants, shirts, jumpers, coats, shoes, bags, stationery, haircuts, trainers, sports gear etc.

I dread this time of year. Shopping is far worse now than at Christmas even.

I have five school age children who all need kitting out for school. As usual I have left it until the last minute and all the shops have already sold out of all the good stuff and the shopkeepers are heartily sick of kids too.

I usually buy the kids their school coats from Stolen from Ivor because they are relatively cheap and usually they have a pretty good selection.

We walked in and the shop was absolutely heaving. We started looking at the coat rack to see what they had.

The assistant came to us to ask if we were OK. I explained that I wanted coats for my motley crew and bless him the man couldn’t have been more helpful if he had got down on his knees and licked my boots.

We went through the coats on the rack and found styles that we liked but they didn’t have the sizes we required.

The salesman promptly went downstairs to his storeroom and searched absolutely everything they had in stock.

He came back with an absolute mountain of coats in various shapes, styles and sizes for my lot to try on.

He didn’t leave our side until every single one of my kids was completely happy with what they had got. He made sure that they all fit we
ll and when one child wanted a coat that completely buried him and he looked ridiculous in, the salesman persuaded him that this was not the coat he wanted and found him one that he was happy with.

By the time we had finished the floor was covered with tried on and discarded coats.
As I started to pick them up and put them back on the hangers I was told
“Don’t worry about that, I will sort them out later, that is what you are paying me for.”

He then packed them all into separate bags, one for each child. These bags also double up as swimming bags.

We must have been in his shop for nearly an hour and because I was buying so many he only charged me £6.00 for each coat.

Fair play to the salesman, who must have lost loads of sales in the time that he spent sorting us out.

As I have said school shopping can be pretty stressful, but not in this shop. I have never received this sort of service from any other shop in Blackburn and I would definitely recommend Stolen From Ivor to anyone.

Sounds like a great shop but a bit far to travel from the South Coast! Another great op. You must have so much to write about with your 5 children. Jo

Thank you for your comments. If I knew what you had to do to get a crown I'd have one by now! I've written 90 odd ops and not one crown. I'm soo ashamed I'm slinking of into the corner to sulk
*sniff*

p.s good op!
