The standard viewer for picture files which is supplied for windows
cannot be described as any more than functional.
If you want something with a bit of bite, then i highly recommend
you get a copy of acdsee.
It handles almost all the picture file formats currently around, and
is lightning fast in its execution.
You can create image sequences, and if your especially lazy (like me)
you can view your picture files with the aid of a slideshow.
It also comes packaged with a few little extras, such as a file convertor,
allowing you to convert say a jpg file to a gif, tiff or bmp file.
The program can also be used to download and manipulate pictures from
your digital camera.
Great software at a reasonable price, and an app I'd now be lost without.

Has anybody tried PicaView32?? I think it's excellent, you can convert any type of picture file to any format at the touch of a button and view any pictoral file simply by right clicking on it. Simplicity itself and never fails...

Version 3.0 is fast (for those who have never used ACDSee before) but I went from 2.4 to 3.0 and found it slower (as in it takes longer to initially start up). I'm now back with version 2.4. I think that is alittle faster. This could be down to the fact that version 3.0 has some extra features, such as a .wav player (why the need for a .wav player in an image viewer???) anyway these extra pluggins seem to have slowed it down slighly in my opinion.
