As has probably been stated until the cows come home, Adobe Photoshop is the piece of software for graphics and now in particularly web graphics. Whilst everyone is fuly aware of the program's capability as a graphics package, people are not so aware that the package has redefined itself again, this time with a definitie leaning towards the web, and towards better integration with other parts of the Adobe product palette. However the price tag at around GBP449+ vat for the full version (upgrade versions are available and are slightly cheaper). This is a lot to pay for a package when you are just a homeuser, and indeed there are many good products available for a ... Read the complete review

This will work MAGIC for you! Seriously! I shan't repeat what anyone reading this op will already know... well, ok, I'll just summarise briefly, just in case someone wanders in here: Adobe Photoshop is THE standard image-manipulation software application used by graphic designers the world over. I guess there are few areas where competing applications don't vie for supremacy (Illustrator/Freehand in vector drawing, TrueType/PostScript in typography, Macs/PCs in computers, etc), but in image retouching - or even image creation, for crying out loud! - Photoshop is the undisputed master. It's basically (and this will be the understatement of the ... Read the complete review

Six years ago I found myself teaching IT to students with Learning and Behaviour problems. Part of the course is computer art and design. Luckily for me, my brother is a graphics designer and highly recommended Adobe Photoshop. I never thought that a program that many think is SO complicated, could be used efficiently and effectively by 12 year olds and over! With the new budget this year I have introduced Photoshop 6. Although it carries a big price tag, with educational discount it becomes a good price, one I definitely do not mind paying for the results that it produces. I am assuming that those reading this opinion will have some idea about ... Read the complete review

I work for a small graphic design company, and we have used Photoshop since version 2.5. We have recently upgraded to version 6.0, and upon first running it realised something was very wrong. There was a delay of around three seconds between clicking on a tool or button and the action commencing. It made me feel as though our Pentium III 800MHz had been sneakily replaced by an old 486. Very odd. I made sure nothing else was running, defragmented the hard drive, and reinstalled Photoshop 6.0, Still the same timelag between click and action. After not being able to find any help on the Adobe website I gave up on Photoshop 6.0 in disgust at Adobe releasing a piece ... Read the complete review

Adobe photoshop 6 is the latest and greatest in the history of the photoshop series. With this new version everything is made easier including an amazing revamp in the way the program deals with text and layers. You can now easily apply styles to text and layers making the overall look that you are trying to achieve come more smoothly and quickly. One little thing I noticed when i first used Photoshop 6 was the absence of the fill bucket as standard on the toolbar. I eventually found it as a tab on the gradient tool. Adobe could have changed this as the fill bucket is nearly always used more than the gradient fill. First impressions of the layout of this ... Read the complete review
