Advantages: great all rounder, uncluttered menus, industry standard

Adobe Photoshop really is the best you can get when it comes to image editing and photograph manipulation and colour/image correcting - thats why its the industry standard.

I do a lot of print work Photoshop although expensive offers you a huge amount of option which are well positioned in the excellent user interface.

It has a step learning curve if you have no previous experience with other adobe products, if however you have used adobe then you will be familiar with the tool layouts.

If you want to use the product for web sites, especially interfaces then the bundled inageready is a fantastic tool which easily cuts up, makes mouseovers, imagemaps, and produces them as webpages without you doign a thing, however the price mark of £600 will mean if you only want to use it for web aplications you would be better of with macromedia fireworks.

The BEST all-rounder available dabbling in web graphics, vector graphics, type, and raster and doing them all brilliantly in one program.

The price seems expensive but it really is an essentail tool for those of you wanting to do serious graphics.
