This software itself while very useful for editing and collaging images, there is a limit to its uses. If one is serious about graphic design I would highly recommend using Photshop in conjuction with other software such as Adobe Indesign. Adobe Acrobat Reader ... is free to download and is constantly updated and patched. It is a simple 'reader' application and will allow a user to read the document and edit it lightly. What I mean by this is that the latest versions allow you to use a interactive marker pen to highlight sections for your own use without altering the document permenantly. Reader also allows the user to copy and paste sections of text and photography for your own use from the PDF file itself. However, this is about the limit of Adobe Acrobat reader. It does allow you to print the document out but any permenant editing will require Adobe's own Acrobat software which is very expensive. Also since most documents are... Adobe Photoshop 7.0 ... can be made with this tool. Layer effects are an excellent feature and the options include add drop shadow, inner shadow, outer glow, inner glow, bevel and emboss, colour overlay, colour fill, plus loads more and each of these can be effected. After using version 5.5 for a while, text effects were harder to create, but with this new version so many effects can be added to text from arching the text, waving the text, filling and stroking the text. Adobe Photoshop 5.5 ... around the image, or alternatively modifying it using a selection of modification options. They include modifciation by scale, Rotation, skey, distort and perspective. This can contribute to making your image hvae a 3D feel to it. A very useful, and easy to use range of tools.
