In my exploits at work as a developer I have used any amount of software. More recently I went on a bit of a dig for decent HTML editing software and Active Server Pages editors. The result is the following opinion on Homesite by Allaire. Allaire's HomeSite has been my favourite tool for Web page authoring for the past few years. Even after Microsoft released FrontPage 2000, and Macromedia released its Dreamweaver 3.0, I find that these two softwares lack the freedom, control and help HomeSite provides to authors. Having used Notepad and HotDog Pro for HTML authoring, I find that sometimes you need thorough understanding of the underlying HTML of a page to be able to make easy modifications to it. Allaire's HomeSite is probably one of the premiere HTML editors out on the market, one of the most competitive priced ones - and it's just brilliant overall! HomeSite retails for a number of prices under £100, depending on whether you're a new user or an upgrader, and want a packaged product or not.
