If you are able to code by hand then you will like HomeSite, if you can't then you will find it difficult to use - that said, using HomeSite is a great way to learn HTML - the included help files are invaluable whether you are a beginner or an expert. One of the best features of HomeSite is it's code validator, which though not quite up to W3C standards does come close. Another invaluable tool is the multiple search-and-replace, great for when a regularly referenced url changes for example. Allaire Homesite ... later, you will immediately be shown the directories and files associated with that project (sort of a default directory). You can just create files without linking to a project. As an example, you can type text directly into it and format it in the same way as you might format a Word document. The appropriate HTML is automatically inserted behind the scenes. Allaire Homesite ... it contains. But, as I've upgraded to newer versions I've become increasingly dissatisfied, to the point where the only time I ever touch it is if I'm quickly looking for detailed info on a tag. It was V4 that did it for me. Until then I don't think I ever noticed it crashing on a regular basis, but it got to the point on V4 where every time I used it it would crash and burn disastrously. This is despite reinstalling the program many times. I'm running it on Win98SE machines at home and work, by the way. The thing is, I think the very latest build might be more stable, but over a year ago I switched completely over to Dreamweaver and haven't...
