It's completely free and has a range of features, which are tricky at first but soon after you will pick it up. Even if you are not a DJ fan it has the capability to record, used at its potential can be a great asset. You finished product can be recorded in Ogg, WAV and with an MP3 (To be able to make your tracks into MP3 you must visit the Audacity website and download the LAME add-on). It has a range of different effects that can be added to your tracks such as reverb and echo not to mention the very useful normalise (which makes your track or tracks at a correct volume and as clear as day).
