Emagic Logic Hit Kit ... doesn't break or pack in easily. Also supplied with the kit is an audio cd of various genre drum tracks all played by a professional session musician and recorded at various tempo's. You are given full permission to use these drum tracks on your recordings, so long as you have a fully licensed copy of the software. You are given six audio tracks on which to record the various parts of your song, aswell as sixteen midi tracks that can be used to generate several different instrument voices that you can use as backing. Audio and Music Software in general ... try out as many as I could get my hands on. I must say that after trying most of them, I don't think that there is one particular piece of software that is good for everything. Each piece of software seems to be better for performing a certain function. I now use a variety of software for recording, mixing and mastering purposes. If I am required to do any programming, or what the regular pc user would call tracking, I use either FruityLoops, Cubase SX or Modplug Tracker. I have built up my own collection of samples from sampling the artists that come into the studio. Some solo artists need backing tracks written for their songs and can't afford session musicians s... Sibelius ... my GCSE compositions on Sibelius and found it was easy to use, most of the time. You can write in full score, for a diverse rance of instruments, from the recorder to the digeredoo, and add lots of notation, and musical devices like glissandos. This suprised me, as some other programs like this don't alow for things like dynamics. It does take a while to get your head round the controls, but once you get the hang of it then its easy to create and modify your music. Another usefull thing it does is back up your scores every time you shut the program down. This means you never lose any work, especially on unrealiable computers like the ones i have at school.
