Advantages: FAST, EASY, REALIABLE FREE !!

Disadvantages: Lack of features that norton 360 has, but its FREE !

I downloaded AVG antivirus after my Norton Internet Security expired. I didnt have the money at the time to update or upgrade so I was searching for a realiable free antivirus download that I could use. After going through many websites and hearing many great opinions on it I decided to give it a try so I downloaded it. I downloaded it from www.download.com and it was the latest version at the time. It downloaded within 5 minutes and installed in about 1-2 minutes. The installation was very easy and fast.

After it was installed i decided to check out its feature's, i carried out a quick scan. This scans the most probable areas of your computer to check whether there has been any trace of viruses, trojans etc... After i had done that i done a full scan, it scans every area of your computer and it was finished scanning within 2 hours which I find is faster than norton antivirus managed. It picked up a trojan horse that was hiding in one of my files that Norton had never picked up before. I was already impressed.

AVG also updates every day i log on my computer which is great as it only takes about 15 secs and its done. You can schedule updates if you want but i just leave it on default to update when logging on. The updates make sure you dont miss any important software or information that keeps the program functioning well.

I perform a quick scan ever 2-3 days and a full scan every week to make sure my system is free of viruses and trojans. I now use AVG as my main antivirus software and i have never had a problem with it yet. I download stuff regularly and although i have got viruses, AVG has managed to get rid of them instantly.

I recommend AVG to everyone as its great. Its fast and easy plus picks up viruses instantly best of all its FREE !! so dont hesitate, get it today :)
