Advantages: Free anti virus

Disadvantages: Not much contol when scan is over

With all these viruses out to get into your PC you need some protection from them. Viruses are a pain because you can't really see them coming. You can pay loads of money to get a good anti virus. AVG also offer a service which you pay to use, but they also offer a free one.

AVG free from Grisoft is a great anti virus which scans you PC and picks out all of the viruses and put them into the vault. I found that it found viruses in .zip files but never deleted them, so I had to shred them my self.

AVG offers many updates about one a day, so it is always up to date on the latest viruses. AVG also has the feature to scan emails and also scan only certain parts of the PC you choose and when you choose.

AVG 8 is now out for free, and offers quick, medium and full scans, which also works on .zip files and also spyware, such as tracking cookies.

I find with AVG Free you don't have much control when the scan is over, as it won't tell you if the viruses are all fixed or not.

It's free tho and it works, keeping you and all your details safe.
