I have had this piece of software on my computer for over a year now. Over that past year i have had quite a few major viruses but thanks to this software i managed to get rid of them. Although the original AVG Anti-virus searches for more things like credit card scams the original comes with quite a big price tag considering that you can get the main searches for free.

On the AVG Anti-Virus software the free version you have 3 tabs on your left hand side the first one is overview: which basically tells you if you have any viruses and if you have any warnings which i get around 30 a day, the second tab is update: If you become a regular user every day you will need to update your AVG to provide the best amount of technology for free to improve the softwares searching to finding less obvious viruses. And the third tab is computer scan you will need to press this to start the scan to look for viruses and warnings the scan will take around 1 hour and 30 minutes searching everywhere on your computer.

Also you can set AVG to do an automatic scan for you, you can set the time you want it to start scanning and which day. When the scan has finished you can also double click on the virus or warning to check where the virus or warning came from on your computer and you can also see how bad the virus can be. After the scan also you can remove the viruses and warnings to the virus vault under the history tab on the top of the screen.

If you are worried about your computers safety but don't want to be ripped off well download this software for free on the AVG website. It has really helped me over the past year with the viruses i have had.
