Advantages: Allows you to watch programmes that you may otherwise have missed and its free!

Disadvantages: You have to have broadband for it to work (Hardly a disadvantage).

BBC iPlayer is an online media player that was originally released in December 2007. In essence what BBC iPlayer allows you to do is catch up on many of the TV programmes or radio shows that you have missed over the internet on your computer. BBC iPlayer does requrie a broadband connection and I have found it amazing just how quickly video's actually load. Considering that many programmes such as the Apprentice are one hour long, it takes less than one minute for you to start playing the video.

Another thing that I really love about BBC iPlayer is that the amount of programmes and radio stations that are available on the website really is amazing. This then ensures that you have a variety when choosing a programme to watch and you really are spoilt for choice. I like the way that you can be browsing the web and have iPlayer minimised and be listening to a radio station! Fast forwarding and rewiding is an excellent feature also that further enchances the viewing experience and really does save you time.
It now takes the pressure of not having to worry about finding the programme you missed on some catch up night. BBc iPlayer allows you to watch the programme that you want at a time you want. The slogan of BBC iPlayer is "Making the unmissable unmissable". This is just how it is because literally if you miss a programme that you really wanted to see, almost straight after it has been showed it will be available on the wbsite. I also now find myself on the computer a lot more looking at programmes. You definately get a glimpse of a lot of the good T.V that you miss.

There is not any adverts and even if there was you would be able to fast forward it making it a really nice platform to watch. The video quality is also excellent and just as good if not better than what you would watch on your ordinary T.V. I do however feel with the size of my computer screen (17'') that when watching a programme for an over it can become quite annoying. Unlike your T.V which I'm sure has a much bigger screen it takes more of an effort to focus and it becomes really noticable when looking at programmes for a long time. I really like the way that the homepage works in that it shows you with ease some of the most popular radio and T.V programmes being watched.

I really do think that this is an excellent website and I don't know what I would do without it. I'm sure if it hasn't all ready change the way that we watch T.V, it really does make the whole experience so much easier. Above all what I like about it is that it open's your eyes to some of the programmes and radio stations that you would not have chosen otherwise. A fantastic site though and I would thoughrally recommend it, of course it is free and so providing you have braodband there is no reason not to choose it. If you have an iPod touch/iPhone or PS3 you can also watch it on that so it is universal in its platform availability. I hope this was useful and thank you very much for reading this.
