Advantages: Very convenient

Disadvantages: Can be addictive

BBC Iplayer is a facility from BBC which lets you watch programs from within the last week of BBC television, online whenever you want. You can also download programs from the last week, but given the amount of DRM copyright BBC puts on these files, the only reason for doing this is to be able to play them offline should you need, or to be able to keep them for up to a month instead of just the seven days on the website.

Not everything that is shown on BBC is then made available on Iplayer, however the majority of stuff is. To be fair to the BBC the stuff they do not put on is generally things like sport or films, which would obviously cost them extra in licensing money.

This links into the best part of Iplayer which is that it is free o at least paid for by the tv license fee which makes you feel good because your money is going that bit further.

I find that there is always good bandwidth available so whatever I am watching does not stop and start, which is what you want.

A great service worth checking out if you ever miss something you meant to watch.
