Advantages: Watch tv that you missed

BBC iplayer is a website that enables you to watch most programs broadcasted in the last 7 days, for free online, or you can download a special iplayer application to let you download the clip to you computer, so then you can maybe transfer it to an MP4 player or ipod and so on (however in order to do this, you need to convert the format, i recommend a program called PSP video 9, it converts it into MP4 format).
Personally, i do not use the actual program, I just go straight to the site and stream the program, as this is quicker, of just about the same quality, and saves disk space on your pc.

So, whats the quality like on these clips?
The quality it quite literally, just as good as the TV, and comes complete with subtitles on most of the programs available on there.

The only slight problem with BBC iplayer, is that not all the programs that are broadcasted on the bbc programs are made available, due to various copyright laws. For example, none of the Family Guy episodes are ever made available on the bbc iplayer website, which is a bit annoying.

I personally think that since iplayers release, all the other tv channels, such as channel 5 and ITV have made their own versions, as the bbc iplayer has really outdone them, however the bbc iplayer is by far the best, in both speed, quality, and lack of ads!

The one last thing i have with iplayer, and its not a problem as such, is that i am not entirely sure if you need to pay your tv license to use it. As i a soon going to go to university, and do not plan on taking a tv with me, I want to know if i will still be able to see tv through the website, although i cannot find this information anywhere, if anyone does know the answer, then please comment.
