Advantages: Free to use. Easy to install & navigate. Watch on TV through PS3

Disadvantages: Doesn't store every programme from the week. Doesn't show live programming

BBC I Player is an on demand service which allows you to watch a selection of the beebs programmes from the past week. The service is free of charge to use (although this does not include internet fees or the fact that you pay a TV License) & anyone anwhere around the world can access it.

The service is very easy to use. You can search by genre, channel, day the programme was on. You do find what you are looking for if it is online.

The quality of the programme will depend somewhat on your internet connection. If the connection is slow, the programme may pause occasionally while the download catches up. If your connection is good, it is almost as good as watching on TV although the picture quality is slightly inferior.

For those of you with a PS3 & a wireless router, you are also able to watch the I player through your PS3. You may need to do a Network Update on your console to get it, but this is free of charge. Watching on PS3 is also good because you can actualy watch the programme on your TV.

In my opinion the only downsidea are that everything from the previous week isn't available online. I'm sure if they put enough money into the memory banks, this would be easily possible. Also that live programmes are very rarely screened. Although this would benefit the rest of the world who don't pay a license fee

I would recommend the service to anyone. If you have missed one of your favourite shows, get yourself on here & watch it.
