VERY useful tool if used legally! (Bearshare)

Advantages: Share any type of file with hundreds of thousands of users on the Gnutella network

Disadvantages: Spyware, the preview feature is pointless

In my time I've gone through every single P2P program I've ever heard of, starting with WinMx. Most were bad and were basically constructed out of disadvantages. But every so often a good one would come along like Ares Galaxy, or, in this case Bearshare.

I must say that Bearshare is the most realiable free P2P application I've used. Built on the Gnutella network, Bearshare has a very large scale community with on average about 850,000 users online at one time, which means more files!

Now obviously it might of crossed your mind (if you understand that downloading music and films is ILLEGAL) "what would I use this for then?", well, if you are kean to obey laws then their are plenty of things, pictures, FREE video clips and maybe even files you need on your computer.

Bearshare has a free version but comes with the disadvantage of spyware which gives you a pop-up every so often, this can be worked around though.

Compared to most other file sharing programs, Bearshare is on top with the most users (because of Gnutella), which, also makes your downloads inpecabally faster, a lot of useful features including "Bitzi Ticket" which gives you the ability to search for information on the file you are about to download.

I've tryed both the free version of bearshare and the non free version, personally I saw no difference what so ever apart from you don't get an anoying pop-up at the start of the payed version, and, that alone wouldn't convince me to stay with the payed version ;-)
