BigFix Consumer Edition is fantastic. It's easy to use, it gets all the critical MS updates (some Windows Genuine Advantage updates are excluded), including some non-MS updates. It offers high download speeds, a clean and simple interface, and the system tray application does not hog system resources. Best of all, it's free of charge and contains no adware or nag screens! It's simple. You download it, install it, and run it. It automatically searches for updates that are not installed, notably Windows Hotfixes. BigFix is a freeware download which once installed sits in your systray and looks out for updates to your software and errors on your computer. When opened it looks like a browser and as I recall, when installed first, it checks everything out. After that you need do nothing unless the symbol in the systray (bottom right) flashes. When you click-on it offers you a download from e.g. Microsoft, or a fault fix. If you say yes, it gets on with it until next time. I have used update.com and Microsoft update etc., but none of them are as on the ball as BigFix. To those who say "I should say more", what else is there to say? The beauty is its ...
