Advantages: Very comprehensive

Disadvantages: Slow IDE

As with the delphi environment for Object Pascal, Inprise Corp ave made Java their own by using the amazing Delphi IDE to greate effect here with Jbuilder. They provide all the usualy swing controls as well as a raft of their own creations. Everything you need is in here and made easily accessible via the environment. Database connectivity is especially easy using this client-server version. If you're into Java and can afford the most expensive Jbuilder version you canI'd recommend it whole-heartedly. Once drawback is the speed of the interface which was built, apparetly, in Java itself. You can tell that Java has a long way to go when you see a fully-fledged enterprise level ap such as this running at the speed it does.
