CoffeeCup FTP

Ok Ok, so I should not really be admitting to this but, yes, I do like to perform a little FTP while I am at work. Naughty as it may be, I sometimes need to access my own sites in the outside world to perform changes or fix things during the day. The trouble is, im behind a firewall here and a pretty stiff one at that. For those of you that dont know what one of those is, it is a barrier that you can use to block certain things into and out of a computer network. It screens out certain access points and sites. Coffee Cup FTP is a great free utility that I would recommend to any new-comer to the web authoring world. For those of you that do not know or understand; FTP means File Transfer Protocol. FTP programs allow a user to upload files to a server, such as html documents (web pages) for public viewing. Coffee Cup FTP has a freeware licence, meaning it is free to everyone. (Sorry, couldn't resist the disgusting pun) Coffeecup ftp program is free. It isn't time limited. It does the minimum you need from an ftp program. I.e. it lets you transfer fles to and from your computer, reasonably efficiently. It saves the details of your connections so you don't have to keep typing in the same IP address over and over. This is a useful product. The only problem with it is the strength of the competition. Ws-ftp Lite edition (for personal and educational use) is far and away the best free ftp program.
