Premium Review Cyberlink PowerDVD: The Best DVD player for your computer (213 words)
by - written on 12/10/09 (Very useful, 18 readings)
Rating:

The best of the best DVD players available for your computer. This may seem a bit excessive for what is essentially something that lets you play a DVD now and then but it does it so well. Where other player are bulky and cumbersome power DVD is simplistic and easy to use. During playback you can check the progress of the film by simply moving the mouse to the top of the screen. This brings down a slider showing your position. Premium Review Nice DVD software (167 words)
by - written on 30/09/08 (Useful, 14 readings)
Rating:

Playing DVDs is now much more simple on a Windows PC these days, now that Microsoft has included DVD playback capability in Vista - only 10 years after the launch of the first DVD. Cyberlink has introduced PowerDVD 8. Of the three version available, the Ultra edition incorporates support for Mpeg4, AVC, AVCHD and Blue-ray. Another very nice feature that has been added to the software is the Movie Remix that allows you to mash up parts of normal films to make a video. Premium Review Cyberlink PowerDVD: A real alternative to hardware (339 words)
by - written on 29/06/02 (129 readings)
Rating:

I first got a DVD-ROM drive about 4 years ago and it came with software that was terrible. It needed a very powerful PC and I had a humble Pentium II at the time. I had also just installed a new Soundblaster Live at the time. I invested in a hardware decoder and to my dismay and annoyance, it didn't work with the soundcard - it got boxed up and the drive was used mainly for accessing CD's. 2 years on and several upgrades later I came across PowerDVD. A small package that allows playback of DVD's and what a treat it is to use. It worked well and is packed with features, playing not only DVD's but video CD's and mpeg files as well. You ...  Read the complete review
