I’ve got a pretty big DVD collection, somewhere around 400 disks, but before anyone starts trying to tot-up the cost, many of these are ex-rental disks bought from Blockbuster after the initial rush to rent them has died down, for example, when they are running one of their 3 for £18 or even 4 for £20 offers. Any that prove to be only worth one showing (amongst 4 of us) are then passed onto the local Oxfam shop, where, hopefully, my modest attempts at recycling will do some good elsewhere. I’ve owned my DVD player for just over a year now and during that time built up a decent enough collection of films. During my usual trawl around the net one of my friends recommended this shareware program to me and I now find it an essential tool. DVD profiler is a program that allows you to catalogue information about your DVD collection. Basically you enter the barcode number on the reverse of the DVD case. Alternatively you can a title to search for or have the disc read in a DVD-ROM drive on your PC. It then goes and checks a huge database to return information about the film.
