Best tool available for managing a DVD collection (DVD profiler)

The other reviews on this site focus on the freeware version of DVD Profiler. I initially downloaded and used this software for around a year before I decided to upgrade.

The main reason I upgraded was that the free version only lets you upload 50 DVDs on the collection website. Uploading the list is a great feature - you can send the address to your friends and family so they can see what's in your wish list and what you already have - especially useful around Christmas and Birthdays.

However, upgrading also gives you the option of purchasing DVD Profiler Mobile (at extra cost, of course), which can run on a Windows Mobile phone or PDA and allows you to carry a full list of DVDs with you wherever you go. This is especially handy when shopping in sales - I have been known to forget that I've already bought a DVD of a film I really loved, and end up with two copies; similarly, sometimes I forget that I still haven't bought a film that I've been after for ages, and miss a bargain.

Another advantage of this software is that the people uploading are all very conscientious about details. One of the first things I do on purchasing a new DVD is check the software to see if there are any worthwhile "Easter Eggs" - which I would never find on my own, and never have the patience to look for online.

Summary: Definitely worth while upgrading if you have more than 50 DVDs
