Advantages: free! free! free! i forget to say...FREE!, similar to homesite

Disadvantages: not bugfree. Yes almost free, but not 100% free (what a sweet word... "free"!), html guide not complete. Use other instead, Not WYSIWYG, newbies maybe skared!

I've absolutely no doubt about this! EvrSoft Firstpage 2000 is THE BEST HTML Design/Editor available nowdays. Surely Dreamweaver is a full-featured program, Home Site is full-doc, FrontPage is full-bug (eheheh ^_^), but only FP2000 offers all that you need for FREE!
It presents with three different layout (according to your specfications): Easy, Normal, and HardCore. Combining those ones you can easily reach everything you need to build your site (from common tag to more, complex, unusual html constructs). Not only this (maybe sufficient, in my advice) the builder presents a really good library of javascript anf perl code to put in your pages and a good (but less respected HomeSite) HTML Reference guide for the beginners and a list of useful links on the web. All this for FREE and without adverts and other irritating things like this. BUT just a suggestion: fp2000 is not fully free of bugs and evrsoft support forum is not as quick as they say (when reporting bugs as for any other jobs, I suppose...) so..patience, my darling, patience!
