Songs get classed under artist, song name, album name and genre so they are easy to find and play again later. Theres no need to search your computer for audio anymore. This is also true from videos which are just classed under author. But you shouldnt have many videos saved on your computer anyway. So, what is iTunes? iTunes is a fine program made by those brilliant people at Apple. It is designed to play MP3's, WAV's and AIFF files. It organizes all your MP3 files in to a library, and allows you to create playlists. It also allows you to 'rip' MP3's from CD, and also 'convert' MP3's from WAV's and AIFF's. Ah... but it's for Mac. Well, as you all read from Mr Whitei's Post DivX ;-) movies are the latest thing. Although one question which should be brought up is the legality of such a format. What is DivX ;-)??? DivX is a new way to encode movies. Currently DVDs are encoded in the Mpeg2 standard and they're size is very big, i.e. for a typical movie you are talking about 5-6 Gigabytes. DivX is different as it uses better encoding techniques which can reduce this by a factor of about eight. Is DivX ;-) Legal??? Not really. DivX is a hacked version of Microsoft’s new Mpeg 4 codec (thus the cheeky wink ;-) ). It is illegal to use and to ...
