Doing a lot of overnight downloads on my 56k modem I use getright a lot. Being my preferred download manager after I tried the annoying Go!Zilla for a month too long I was quite pleased with the ease at which getright installed. It has an automatic feature to ping the company's website and download an updated version if one is released which is handy and saves the time consuming process of having to do this manually.

Getright is very robust under windows 98 and I found its performance quite acceptable even with download queues in excess of 100 files. If you need to download files from an ftp server then this is also easily handled by the software because you can simply enter the directory which all the files are in then highlight all the files in one go, using this method means you don't have to type in all the addresses manually.


Getright integrates itself with Internet Explorer so you can seamlessly click on hyperlinks then the file will be downloaded by getright automatically for you which takes the effort out of getting better downloads and its handy analysis tool will tell you how many hours in download time the file resuming software has saved you which will almost certainly positively reinforce the minimal investment you payed to purchase the software.

The only time I have experienced problems with getright is on my older machine which only has 32mb of ram to which getright regularly froze and refused to work.

I would recommend a minimum spec of 266mhz, 64mb of ram and windows 98.
