Advantages: Fast, tidy, and smooth.

Google Chrome is one of Google's latest adventures into services other than web searching.

The idea of the project is to provide a web browser that's better than INternet Explorer, by making the web browser 'faster, safer, and easier'. It certainly does all this, at least on Windows, as of yet Chrome is not available for Linux or Mac operating systems, but it is in the beta stages.

The browser adopts a minimal design but takes the tabbed browsing styles that Mozilla originally introduced us to and makes it an integral part, appearing at the top of the screen where you would normally expect to find a title bar. This means that the tabs are an integrated part of your browser rather than purely an add on.

The browser is also significantly faster at rendering javascript and the like, out performing Internet Explorer and Firefox by leaps and bounds, often two or three times faster, though the other browsers are starting to catch up as they integrate newer technology themselves.

Interestingly Chrome does not force you to use Google as the default search engine and does allow you to use Yahoo or Live search as an alternative.

Overall Chrome is an excellent browser that feels nice and tidy to use and definitely does provide a speed boost. The layout is a little different to most and takes some getting used to, but given it's fre? Get it downloaded and give it a go.
