Advantages: Fast, Easy to use
Disadvantages: Occasionally a website wants you to use IE for a certain feature, but not often these days
I've tried many web browsers over the years after tiring of Microsoft's Internet Explorer, yet I always seem to return to Internet Explorer. Until Now...
I downloaded and installed Google Chrome with very low expectations and was very surprised (and in fact am using it to write this review). It was a quick and easy download and install that left me thinking 'Is that it?'
Anyway, I love the minimalist layout with few buttons/menus/toolbars taking up my viewing space. And the speed is awesome, it is just sooo responsive whether it's loading for the first time or surfing between sites.
One problem I did have in the early days was sooo many websites not working quite right, or telling me I have to use Internet Explorer to use certain features. But now, I very rarely have that problem....in fact, I can't remember the last time I had to load Internet Explorer to view a website..Google Chrome does it all, quicker, easier and safer.
When using it, I've not noticed anything missing other than the 'ability' to install toolbars...but I don't miss that at all...who needs yet another search bar taking up screen real estate? It has auto-complete, password remembering, etc. In fact, everything I need. I love it.
I don't know much about plugins, etc that you can get in Internet Explorer, but I never used them anyway so I am unable to comment on that side of Chrome. (If it even has plugins)
If their browser is anything to go by, I can't wait to try Google OS when it comes out :)
Summary: Finally a real replacement for Internet Explorer
