I love Handbrake and after using it with recommendation from a Cnet podcast I won't use anything else. Essentially Handbrake is a DVD backup program, taking your DVD (.vob, .ifo) files and putting into one single video to store onto your hard drive without the need to have the disc. HandBrake is very popular, I can see it on many website, this is benefit from free. On the other hand, it is difficult to use for beginner, HandBrake attend technology and ignore user experience. Because of open source, noncommercial, its maintenance is limited, lack support and weak stability, even if no update for long time.
