So why is HTML so great?Simple. i can be easily interprted and so any compatible browser can read it. What program do you use to write your websites? There are plenty to choose from - CoffeeCup, Cute-HTML, Netscape Composer, FrontPage... and countless more. They come with bells and whistles all the way from automatically finishing tags for you to providing a interface like a Wordprocessor or DTP package and just generating all the HTML code behind the scenes. In fact, a lot of modern Wordprocessing software comes with the ability to save your pages as HTML, so on the face of it, there's no need to even buy any special software. However, what I've generally chosen to use, over the course of years of experience and professional web design work, are just ... Read the complete review

HTML - Hypertext Markup Language, the driving force behind the development of the Internet as we know it, and a complete waste of time. As a web designer, I'd be lying if I said you don't need to know how to edit HTML, but please, don't waste any time learning how to write HTML from scratch - you just don't need to know it. My professional experience in web design has shown me that writing HTML is just another way to get in to the industry or to build a page, and that to really get motoring in web knowledge of Java, Javascript, ASP, or SQL will take you much further. Time spent learning HTML leaves less time to learn other, more ... Read the complete review

I took - actually no, I was forced to take - an HTML course as part of my additional studies programme at sixth form. Expecting it to be dull and incredibly complicated, I was in for a pleasant surprise! I don't want to give a lesson on HTML here, but maybe some tips would come in useful. Firstly, if you're thinking of writing a website, I really would recommend you write it yourself rather than using a programme (you use microsoft notepad for this). Not only does this give you a lot more control, the sense of acheivement and satisfaction you receive from doing it provides a huge boost. I also think it's less complicated in a way - you can see ... Read the complete review

If you know how to code HTML, then you'll think it's easy, you probably won't understand how anyone could not pick up on this simple formatting language, or even, why they would not want to. If you don't know HTML, you'll probably use something like Frontpage (god help you), DreamWeaver or HoTMetaL, or something similar anyways. You'll probably think that HTML is really tricky, wouldn't know where to start, and probably aren't even sure exactly what it is. You probably haven't got a clue why anyone would ever want to bother attempting such a difficult task as learning HTML when there are plenty of programs around that mean you ...
