Advantages: they offer a free version

Disadvantages: price, service, unstable

Two years ago I purchased what I thought was a fun program. Incredimail was a fun alternative to Outlook. There were a few glitches but it was pretty easy to live with. The Incredimail site was friendly and had a lot of content. Two years later I have a different view of the program. Incredimail has changed...or maybe I just have a better knowledge of the software and the people who are marketing it. As of this review date, they have within the past year and a half, reduced the content avaliable for download on their site. With each version they would say their content would not work and it was removed from the site. Soon there was very little left. The skins, notifiers, animations and stationery was reduced. I emailed them and asked why twice, with no reply. I have also needed to have my key code reset several times and it is almost painful to get them to do this. It takes them several emails and a couple weeks (if you are lucky) to get them to reset it. Now, they have decided to bring back all the missing content from the past year, and will sell it back to you for a subsciption...25.00-50.00. This is on top of the purchase of the software purchase of 49.00! To me this is a very nasty thing to do to there customers. To upgrade is one thing...and you pay an upgrade price for the new software. This isn't NEW software. They are charging you for items you had and they managed to take away....because of the version revisions and the fact that they took it off their site. Those very same items are now considered "GOLD" and to get them back you have to pay them. Wow. I would stay away from this software as a purchase. If you really like it....don't buy it as I did. It was a total waste of money. You can use the free version and use their notifiers......OR try WikMail....which gives you more features (less content because it is still young) for 19.00!
Incredimail is a disappointment. The greed is sad. They don't support
the software in a timely manner, they are sneaky in practice. DON'T PURCHASE!
