Advantages: Option of returing to d older version jst wid a click
Disadvantages: Plenty - the review explains in-depth
Not An Good Option:-
As the Microsoft claims that the Internet Explorer 8.0 (IE 8.0) beta is for everyone... the fact is that it is best suitable for the website developers.. in other words for the PROFESSIONALS... Why?? Coz only a professional would be able to get away with the bugz and disturbance it offers and still manage to work smoothly :p (I tried a serious joke .. did it work?)
Me the Victim:-
In the hope of smooth functioning and better features I went ahead and installed the IE 8.0 beta however I experienced more crashes in my system then ever before...
May be to fight with the market competition, microsoft has come up with something so desperate that The IE 8.0 seems nothing more than a combination of several features of safari , firefox and ofcourse the IE itself.
One concern of the IE 8.0 that has been confirmed by many websites and MYself so far is the clash between Google and Yahoo toolbars and IE 8.0.. If you are a google or yahoo addict then mind you IE 8.0 might punish you for your guilty addiction :P
Microsoft has propagated many features in its new IE 8.0 beta - one of which is "Malware prevention" this actively scans a downloading page for any malicious content & the twist to this feature is that while downloading the file IF Microsoft finds something "objectionable" It will straight away give you two option either to ban it or to take it, with no further information... Now you can either risk your system to download the file or simply block the file.. without even knowing wat was the treat Actually abut!!!
Another one that is too much hyped about is ACR (Automatic Crash recovery) A feature similar to OR can say reproduced from Mozilla firefox known as Session recovery. Microsoft claims that ACR helps in recovery of browsers & tabs in the circumstances of the tab not responding or crashing, preventing the loss of work and productivity of the whole browser (Say if you have a crash in one particular tab then it will save the entire browser by jst closing dat particular Tab & then trying to recover it individually). Flip to this again is... It doesn't work as it says instead I experienced more crashes - due to the said Yahoo, Google clash.
Yet another inspired feature of IE is web slices (adapted from Apple safari) Well I am not to handy with the slices so cant comment much on this particular feature however the best I can say is... that Microsoft wasn't too ambitious with this either coz its not as good as the sourse (safari) ;)
As a whole Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0 beta is a total mismatch for the not so tech savvy users. Thank GOD it offers an option of returning to the older but "Very Own" IE 7.0 jst with d click of a button jst in case if you are not-so-happy with the upgradation which is most likely to happen ;)
P.S. IF you still wish to try the new viersion of IE make sure your Googles and yahoos are turnd off (recommended) :) atleast for the first live review.
Summary: As claimed - beta is for public... still guysss use it with caution XD
