Advantages: Music storage, syncs with iPod, easy to find things.

Disadvantages: Crashes, loses data sometimes.

iTunes is the real thorn in the side of Apple's sweeping market dominance. When it works, what it does is fairly good and a breeze to use, playlists are very easy to create, songs are easy to locate, but the thing is fatally flawed.

Since having iTunes, it has crashed twice on me, deleting everything in the library, which to be honest, makes you want to throw your computer out the window. Windows Media Player doesn't seem to have these problems. Artwork tends to go missing and sometimes won't sync to your iPod, leaving you with a blank note, which is also annoying to look at. Videos have to be personally sorted yourself, into movies, tv shows and music videos. This isn't a huge problem until you're having to do this 100 times when you're replugging them all into your iTunes after it has lost them all.

However, I would still reccommend it. I don't know why, but when it works its great. It categorizes music very well, but only get it if you dont have a short or average fuse.

Summary: Good, until it breaks on you.
