I Found this website about a month ago and boy was I glad to find it. I was reading through some opinions on dooyoo scouting about to see if there were any decent sites out there. I read this one opinion on Kazaa and thought ‘wow I like the sound of this.’ At this point, many of you are going ‘what the hell is he on about?’ Well the answer to this question is that Kazaa is just like Napster a program which you can download MP3 files from of your favourite songs or bands.

Ok Napster does this so, what is the difference? Well since its court case Napster have had to filter the songs so that the copyrighted ones are no longer on there. In doing this though it means that hardly any songs are available and Napster have decided to stop people downloading songs. They are however working on a new program so the can filter out the copyrighted material leaving the rest of the songs on there.

You want to download songs but Napster will not let you so ultimately you turn to other places and www.kazza.com is one them. You may now be asking ‘why not just wait for Napster to get up and running again?’ The simple answer is because you do not know how long that will be. However, still keep Napster on your computer for when they re launch everything and you can use it properly again. In addition, Kazaa is, in some ways, better than Napster. Not only can you download music you can get videos, games, software, images and documents.

I suppose now you want to know how to get Kazaa. It is simple, go to www.kazza.com and on the front page it tells you about the latest version of Kazaa, it also has a link saying download it now. Click on the link and it will take you to the next page. Now this page takes you through all the steps you need to download it. Also, check the minimum system requirements to make sure that you fit in to the requirements and then you are free to download.

Once downloaded you are then requir
ed to sign up, its just the usual, username, password name etc. you then have choose where you want your downloaded files to go and if there are any folders you would like to share with other users once this is done then you are free to start downloading.

Ok so you have downloaded Kazaa signed up to it and are ready to download so how do you do it? Let me take you through the program so that you get a better idea of what Kazaa is and what to use it for.

START – This is the first in the line of options on your Kazaa program. This just takes you to the homepage of Kazaa (www.kazaa.com). You can use all the options available to you on the homepage including search but I would advise you search form the actual program.

MY KAZAA – This is where all the files you have downloaded are, provided you are sharing them. Kazaa has folders for each of your different types of program, which it automatically put there for you saving you the trouble of sorting them all out. They organize them into the following categories:

All – Clicking on this folder will list all the files you have which you are sharing with Kazaa, by clicking on title you can put them in alphabetical order, but they will stay all mixed together.

Audio – these are all your music files, which are on Kazaa so if you want to play the ones you like out of these then it is much easier than having them all bundled together.

Document – I’m struggling with this one, I think that the document is for word files and things like that but the problem I have is wondering why anyone would download word documents, but if you have any well then this folder is kind of useful in a weird twisted way or is that just my head?

Image – This has all you image files, weather they are .tiff, .jpeg, .bmp or whatever they all go into here for quick easy access.

Other – Well if you have files which come into none of Kazaa&#
8217;s folder then congratulations you managed to use this file before me, I can’t really see what ones could go in here but hey if you know please tell me.

Software – This is another weird folder, in mine I have the set-up programs to Napster, Napster and windows media component, and strangely enough no one has tried to download them off me yet. I have no use for this folder but then again you might if you download some software programs of some one else, it is a useful way of again getting easy access to your files.

Video – This is where all you video files which you have downloaded or already had on your computer provided you are sharing them are.

THEATRE – This is where you can play your video files. Click on the video you want to play and it comes up in the player. You can play, pause or stop your video at anytime. Also in the top left hand corner of the screen is a button called full screen where you can then play your video on the whole of your screen, the quality is not as good but hey its still cool to watch. In addition to this you can play your music files here or view your images. Just click on the one you want and press play or view depending if it is a video or a music file.

SEARCH – This is the option, which undoubtedly you will use the most. You put what you want to search for in to the box and press search. However, as per usual there are other options. You can choose weather to search for song title or the singer, or both. You can also search for, Audio, video, software etc. or through all of them. Although I must warn you if you search for Britney spears it is likely you will get porn up instead of the actual song. This is great if you are looking for porn but otherwise it is probably better to keep your 13-16 year olds away from this program, if you do not want the risk of them looking up porn. This is probably the only disadvantage with the program unless you are looking for it b
ut what do you expect when it is all over the net? Not that I know of course.

TRAFFIC – This part of the program is where you can monitor all of your downloads of the people who are uploading off you. An added feature, which Napster does not have, is the ability to pause your download and come back to it later. It is fantastic. It means you never get transfer errors, if people disconnect then it will just start searching for more sources but will not delete the download. If people are uploading off you and you don’t want them to then you can always cancel the upload but it is not recommended you do so by Kazaa and because I was trying it out for this opinion I noticed that the person never stopped, so there is no point in using this option. If it is annoying you too much then just disconnect from Kazaa and reconnect.

Right I think this opinion just needs a conclusion now but how do I round it off?

All I can say really is that if you are annoyed with Napster and can’t find another decent program for downloads then by all means get this it will certainly get you what you want. I must say as well that the quality of videos you can download is very good, I can get loads off wrestling ones for example I have a hell in a cell match between Triple H and cactus Jack and I also have a preview of the raw is war game on the new Xbox games console. I do recommend everyone who has Napster or does not gets this because it is certainly a good program. I told all my mates about it when I first found it and now I am telling you, trying to strengthen the Kazaa community. If the courts want to shut down this program as well then another will be set-up so hopefully in the end the will give up trying to stop us previewing the quality music before we go out and by it.
