After the legan battle with NApster, many people including me wondered how are we ever going to be able to download mp3's from the net again for free.

Fear not, Kazaa has shot up the table as the leading programe downloaded from the internet to download mp3's

But not only does Kazaa let you download mp3's but you can also download pictures such as jpeg's, movies such as mpeg's, and software.

Kazaa is very similar to Morpheus as its owned by the same company. But Kazaa is much faster then morpheus as there are less users, but this does not affect the amount of files on there server.

Each typical song takes about 15-20 minuties on a 56k connection. if your one of the lucky one's (unlike me) having a broadband connection lets you download mp3's in about 3 minuites.

Other great features about Kazaa are that you can pause download's when ever you want and carry on downloading from where you left off when you want to. This is a great feature which other programes dont let you do.

There have been concerns, with the Kazaa programe, as many people believe that by downloading the programe from the internet,you also download a advertising programe which is hidden in the programe, which when Kazaa more popular the company are going to activate this advertising programe and they use your server to send adverts, this would mean that your internet connection would suffer hughly and your speed would decrease rapidly. Whether this is true or not im not sure.

If you have any other information regarding this please tell me, as i would love to know if its true.

Anyway back to Kazaa being great. there are many other programes such as bearshare, morpheus, imesh etc which say that they do the exact same thing as Kazaa, but the truth is that even if they do they dont do it as good.

Ive tried many programes to be able to share files on the internet with my friends. Ive even trie
d FTP programes which open a connection for just you and the person you wish to share with, and that way you can download and upload programes and mp3's easily and simply, but it doesnt make it quicker. Using this programe i used to download at 2/3 kbs where as using Kazaa i download at 4/5 kbs, which is increadible for 56k conneciton.
