I recently got a newer version that had banners built in, eurghh!! I went back to the old version. FTP's not really changed. To summarise, great. For no banners, use the older version!

The good thing about FTP is that its tried and tested. Its a very mature protocol thats been around a long time. This means there's some very stable software out there that does the job well. I used LeechFTP almost exclusively for a long time. I run a web site (pigpog.com), and use FTP to upload the files. Since there's now getting on for 150 files, it's not a small job for an FTP program. I need something that can upload as well as download, and is able to both delete whole directory trees and upload them too. LeechFTP uses a fairly simple interface, using drag and drop to move files, and right clicking to get to all the options. It queues files up for downloading, and will keep multiple 'threads' open, so it can be working on listing the contents of a directory with one thread, whilst uploading several files at once with ...
