 ... its a little harder then most distrobutions for installing, as sometimes more technical knowledge is needed, and while if linux was dominating the market this wouldnt be an issue, you just ask your neighbors kids, its not. Its the equivilent of hardware not being recognized in windows, but easier to fix then the crap that you have to go through for windows. Next is ubuntu, I specificu use xubuntu, and kubuntu. (be warned, this is quite a long article) I have no personal experience of downloading a Linux distro from an ftp site and burning a CD, so this advice will principally be about CDs included in books, given away with magazines, or bought as a package. Well blow me down with a feather! I'm typing this little missive on a copy of Sun Microsystems' "StarOffice" running on a Linux box that I'm logged on to through a Window on my Windows/ME machine.
