The best compression package on the market (Macromedia Fireworks 3)

Advantages: compression and splicing

Disadvantages: Too big and complicated and not user friendly

Fireworks is a very complicated program to use - and I don't care what anyone says. This application has a ridiculous amount of features and uses- if you want to
spend at least the rest of you life trying to learn them. The best thing though about this program is the compression features which are absolulty brilliant and the best
on the market.
You can shrink wrap your GIFS and JPEG's etc. to manageable icons while still keeping the colour and quality. Fireworks actually splits the page into a 4 split
window pane with up to 4 different versions of the same compressed image eg. as a GIF as a JPEG as a PNG etc. The only bad thing is the program keeps on
asking me if i want to save my new files as PNGs? a well as my choosen fomat, How do i turn this feature off ?

I find most of the features though just too awkward and to use though, you can not use common sense with this program - the instructions and help books are
needed. Once learned though and you will be splicing and hot spotting your way to some really slick HTML pages.

Its too big an application- not for beginners
