Disadvantages: KAK is a pain in the ar......
Despite having a computer only a short time, and with McAfee to hopefully kill the deadly viruses on my e-mails, the KAK.Worm penetrated my defences. In fact we must have had the virus for some time, as the computer kept doing strange things, like failing to respond to start ups properly, and the colours being unable to be changed. Also, e-mails sometimes went in Outlook express and sometimes they didn't, the same problem also with receiving them.Unfortunately every time I sent a e-mail, prsumably the recepient was infected with the KAK virus. Help was at hand after reading an old back issue of Computeractive, where someone wrote in and asked how they could get ris of it. The answer was to use KAK CLEANER, to be found from www.getvirushelp.com/kak. Downloading this will erase it, and get rid of problems when you start up the computer.

Parsley - 09/03/01 Until anyone gets the dreaded KAK, then they don't know how irritating it is! This worm is the bane of my life at the moment. I was unlucky enough to get the wretched thing via e-mail and after I loaded AVG anti-virus free edition it didn't get removed. I removed it manually by deleting any *.kak files and kak.* files and defragementing the disk drive (this writes over any deleted material) I thought that the wretched thing had gone, but I have noticed that slowly my computer has been crashing more and more and everything is grinding to a halt. The latest thing to be hit is my CD ROM drive (now not working at all), before that Outlook express went wrong. I am so fed up with little things ruining my computer and making me have about 7+ crashes a day! I thought it was my imagination that the kak worm was slowly destroying my PC - it seems that I was right - anyway I'm straight off now to your recommended site to see what can be done! |
