Is this new? Is it better than the virus scan?
I dont know the answer to the first of these questions but I was having problems with the latest version of Macafee virus scan and Internet explorer 5.5 when I came across this little gem.
It is a web based virus shield and scanner that relies on Macafee to update the info and it shields and scans your computer from the web.
This has two main advantages,a) you are always up to date and b) you need a smaller and less clumsy programme on you hard drive.
The disadvantages are that you need to be on line to run a scan on your hard drive.
The system still sheilds your computer all the time and will protect you from downloaded and emailed viruses.
It works well with IE 5.5 and it is cheap at $29.95 to enrol.
This is the lazy mans virus scanner and will keep up to date automatically and if net costings are of nbo concern to you then I really do recommend this.
