Media Jukebox is a freeware music player available from musicex.com. Not only can it play the usual downloaded MP3 music files, Media Jukebox also allows you to record from your computer's CD (or from an external source such as a cassette player) directly to your hard disk. You can build and manage a complete library of free high quality music in the form of playlists. Another interesting feature is its web radio section that allows you to tune in to live broadcasts from all over the world. Everything from music and news to live police scanners operating in major US cities.
The only problems I've had so far with it concern the playlists. You might find they've become corrupted for no apparent reason. Fortunately it has a backup feature which you should use regularly to safegaurd against this happening.
