Advantages: Content Rator, Easy Navigation

Disadvantages: Slow Cache Times

Internet Explorer is the most commonly used browser around the world with Netscape not far behind, but also getting bigger is the Opera claiming to the “The Fastest Browser In The World” But recently brought out is Mozilla. So take your pick leave a view to tell me your favourite.

But back to Internet Explorer it has got all the common features.
The thing that holds it down a bit is when you hit the back button when it access it’s cache (Where it saves Pages where you have been) it is one of the worst responses times over the 4 browsers.

I.E Is very plainly spread out it has the information bar at the bottom if the page is loading or not, also how far it has loaded also if the page is secure or not and where the page is based On the Internet, Local Intranet or Unknown.

Then In the middle the actual display where the page is displayed up the top there is:


The Back Button – Makes the browser go back to the last page you have just visited.

The Forward Button -- Makes the browser go forward to the page you have just come from.

Stop: Stops all actions and loading pages

Refresh: Loads the current page again and makes sure it is up to date with the current page
On the Internet

Home: Goes to your set homepage

Search: Opens up a side window where you can do an Internet search by MSN.

Favourites: Opens up your favourite window where you can jump to the required page you
Have preset.

History: Lists in day’s pages you have been to on the Internet

Mail: Read mail is where you can read your email client and check your emails
New message is where you compose a message in your email client and send it.
Send A Link is where your email client sends a link of the page you are on the required person
Send Page sends the current page to the required person in your e
mail client
Read News opens up your email client and checks for new messages on your newsgroups

Print: Prints the page on your printer.

Edit: You can see the HTML (How a web page is made) in a HTML reader Default is notepad.

Discuss: Logs on to a server to talk to somebody (Leave a comment if I am wrong I am not sure)

On The menu you have:
File:

New: Either opens up a new window, Message, Post, Contact or Internet Call
Open: Opens a HTML Page
Edit: Lets your view The HTML
Save As: Lets you save the current page on to your computer / hard disk
Page Setup: Lets you change the page setup
Print: Prints The Page
Print Preview: Lets you preview the page before you print
Send: Lets you send the page by email in a link or the whole page.
Import And Export: Lets you transfer Internet explores settings and also things like favourites
Properties: Lets you view the properties of the current page
Work Offline: Means you come off the Internet and lets you view that page offline
Close: Closes the window

Edit:

Cut: You can’t normally use this
Copy: Copy’s your selected items to the windows clipboard
Paste: You Can’t normally do this
Select All: Selects all the objects on that current page
Find: Looks on that page for the required text.

View: Really gets lets you change the look of the browser and what things to display nothing much.

Favourites: Lets you add a favourite organize them and browse them

Tools:

Mail and News: Same as the button above mail and news.
Synchronize: Updates all your favourite pages.
Windows Update: Updates your current version of windows
Internet Options: Lets you change your options in here you can

Change your homepage
History Options
Temporary Internet Options
Change your security settings Lets you set content settings e.g. what yo
u see on the Internet.
Connections let you change how you connect to the Internet.
Programs: Let you choose what programs you use for different actions.
Lets you change advanced settings don’t change these unless you are experienced.

Help: Helps you with Internet explorer.
