MSN messenger is one of the must-have software for the average user. It's hard to imagine a computer with internet without MSN messenger. Simple, good colors, well designed and with all the features that an instant messenger can have, MSN messenger is one the most popular messengers.

I am sure most of us are familiar with its features but for a quick review, it offers conversation in text, voice and video. If both the parties have a mic and web cam installed, it reminds of using a free video call instead of simple text chat. The text chat is made interested by emoticons and the flash enabled -, which covers the whole screen.

One of the drawbacks with MSN messenger is its dependency on internet explorer. If internet explorer is set to work offline, MSN messenger won't connect. Not a big deal, but can be irritating at times. Secondly, it takes ages to connect on a slow connection as compared to other popular instant messengers. But then it provides you with a trouble shooting option which helps you in resolving the problem.
