Advantages: Keep in touch; send files; very fast, reliable and easy too use.

Disadvantages: Does go down sometimes; and is destracting when you have important things to do!

I have found that MSN messenger one of the best things about the internet. You are able to keep in touch with people; talk to people on the other side of the world; send pictures/files/etc. just by the click of the mouse.

I was first introduced to MSN about 4 years ago now by a friend; and never got it because I didn't see what the big fuss was, I saw these people nearly everyday of the week! But when i did get it, boy is it addictive. It is incredibly useful.

Msn messenger has so many features which allow you to send files to people; block people if you do not wish to speak to them. (This feature allows you to 'block' them, and the peoson cannot see you are online, it can be helpful at times.) ; video call, let people view or you view peoples webcams; play games against people and join group convasations.

You are able to keep chat logs so record the conversations you have had with people and mess with the viewing options to make it more asthetically pleasing for yourself.

The instuallation is quick and easy and only takes a few minutes depending on your internet type. You can also download add-ons such as MSN plus which allows you to put colour into your display name; display recent events like people logging in and out and hide MSN with short keys.

MSN is reliable and has only stopped working for me a handful of times throughout the 4/5 years of having it. It is easy to use and to get used too and it is very fast. If you ever anwyay to see the ping status of ou and the people you are talking too, type "/ping" and it will tell you how many seconds have passed before they get your messages.

Note: you may need MSN plus for this.

Overall, MSN is a must have, although can be very distracting when you have other things too do!
