Pretty much where would I be without it, I mean if you haven't got MSN, you're missing out big time and you can pretty much guarantee that the majority, or at least a good amount of your friends will regularly use it.

Basically it's an instant messenger, so everyone logs in to MSN, once online then, they can speak to anyone else that's online. It's free, fast (depending on how quickly the people wish to respond - I'm still not sure what some people do in between "instant" messages). You can control who is able to speak to you, as first they must add you to their contacts list, and before doing this, you must approve their friends request. That allows for a little bit of extra security, and you can pretty much most of the time prevent the random Joes looking for Cyber Sex from harassing you whilst you're online.

It's got some really cool additional features aswell. The video conversations are really good, my only qualm would be that sometimes it takes a long time for the webcam "loading" screen to actually load and I sometimes wonder if this is done on purpose to display adverts for as long a time as possible. There's also a feature, where, instead of typing the messages, you can hand right them using the mouse cursor - though this is very challenging and if you ar fluent in it, then big respect to you.

I would say that MSN is probably my primary means for communicating socially and is a fantastic invention, well worth downloading.
