MSN or as it's called now Windows Live Messenger is a instant messaging service in which you can keep in contact with your friends and family. It's very easy to install and requires very little Hard Drive Space.

MSN is a microsoft application although is also available on mac and xbox 360. So for a start, almost anyone can access it. However, speaking on PC terms, it's an almost must have application these days.

Why is this? As I meantioned earlier it is easy to install, just go to MSN website and follow the links. After that simply install and away you go. Oh and did I also mention that it's free to use? There are regular updates constantly adding new features.

How does it Work? After you have installed, you can add contacts to your friends list, so you can only be in contact with people you know and no stangers. You can block unwanted contacts so they cannot contact you and delete old contacts. To speak to a contact simply click their name and away you type. You can add your display picture and name to fully customise your profile.

What features are there? Apart from talking you can view your friend on webcam if they have one, they can view you if you have a camera and also include voice (although this needs to be improved) you can include emotions in your text logs (these being pictures of you feelings) and customise the background. Your contacts also can be sorted into friends, family, work buddies etc.

So msn is an overall great tool, allowing instant access to chat with friends, providing they have signed in of course. It's free, simple, smart and well known. Another excellent resource.
