Advantages: you can talk and see people instantly

Before I was aware of the MSN service I just stayed in contact with my friends via the normal email.

However, Things have changed. I can chat to them instantly online now.

There are many different websites offering instant messaging services and I have checked out alot of them. This is the better service out of the lot as far as I am concerned.

My inlaws live a long way a way from us and they like to see how the kids are doing on a regular basis. So you can imagine how happy they and the kids are now that they can chat online.

The good thing about this service is it isn't just text. If you have a webcam you can set it up so that you use it through MSN and can talk to people and see them instantly. That is what we do and the kids love it being able to see Nanny and Grandad on the pc.

They also have the sketch pads and file transfer options with the Netmeeting that you can use through MSN. This can be a laugh too as while you are sketching something the person at the other end can see it straight away or even add to the picture.

I would recommend this to anyone. You just need to sign up for a Hotmail email address which then gives you a user name and password which will be the same for the MSN Messenger.
