Advantages: Keep in touch, Tells you when you get a new e-mail, Easy to use

Disadvantages: Microsoft's normal problems

Microsoft Network Messenger has one fatal flaw, it's design and concepts is created by Microsoft. So multiple crashing of your computer, failure to work, repetitive bugs and general frustration is guarenteed by the product. And it is, frequently the computer will crash due to the confusion created by Messenger, it also occasionally fails to delver messages to the person on the other end and so offence is easily taken.

Despite all these obvious problems (fixed and unfixed by various updates), MSN is one wonderful piece of kit. You see I'm off to university in september, losing touch with my friends is always a fear. My parents say you'll lose touch with many of them by stay in touch with others. But I don't want to meet up with them a few times a year and remember the past. I want to continue making memories with them, so constant, daily, contact is required. You hardly open up via text messaging and talking over the phone is fund draining stuff. So... thank the lord that I've managed to persuade all my close friends to get Microsoft Network Messenger.

It is useful now, many of my friends live far away and the best form of contact i get is over the internet. Fiddeling with colour, fonts, names (that often blocks the ability to swear), the ability to change your status. It is all very clever and is increased with the recent MSN plus add on. Another feature a certainly enjoy is the ability to include small images such as 'smileys' as they are very pleasing and add a more human touch to your discussion. Naturally as an overall tool it is handy, it tells you when you've got a nice new e-mail in and it has a ever so easy to use interface. Especially useful when blocking that sod that just won't shut up!

Despite early versions suffering from virus problems this seems to have been sorted, you can send things to people via this service and even play games online against eachother. It is all very useful and it is
the best way to keep contact with your friends... especially when they're just a click away.

Dringo.

Its a good program, except that the latest version doesn't like me because I don't have a @hotmail.com username. Either I can't log in or It ruins KaZaA. Well written op! XD
